Nestled in the quiet neighbourhood of Pok Fu Lam, this 906-square-foot apartment serves as the ideal haven for a young couple’s first home. The goal was to craft a living space that feels harmonious and authentic while remaining efficient and streamlined. The design draws inspiration from the rhythmic ebb and flow of the ocean, with muted colors and soothing textures that exude a sense of calmness.
A variety of design elements embody the energy of ocean currents, as if they were shaped and polished distinctively yet harmoniously by the swell of the sea that breaks upon the shore. An L-shaped wooden cabinet swooshes along the dining room walls. Loose furniture such as the TV console and nightstands have soft profiles and rounded edges. Windows are lined edge-to-edge with panellings that carry a rippling motif of the sea waves. Anchoring the living room, a custom area rug inspired by water movements is placed at the centre to compliment the furniture.
With subtle reference to the tranquillity of a coastline, the colour palette is predominantly composed of sandy beige and warm grays in order to impart a serene ambiance throughout the space. Selected walls are painted in a soft and matte sand-textured wallpaint by St. Leo, while low cabinets are curved and in accents of stones and wood to add depth and interests that soothe ones’ senses. The overall aesthetic is sophisticated yet understated, with a focus on clean lines and simple forms.

The sliding wood screen adds intimacy and warmth to the dining area while preserving the flexibility to open the window behind for undisrupted airflow.
The TV console features a soft profile, where a piece of polished sandstone sits on top, encapsulated by the round-edge lacquered cabinet doors that feels harmonious in space.

An area rug is designed to embody the energy of ocean currents, where a series of winding ridges is etched into the rug, as if the furniture were shaped and polished distinctively yet harmoniously by the swell of the sea.

Sitting on both sides of the bed, our custom nightstand in high-gloss lacquer finish features an elegant and sleek round profile with a honed stone top that gracefully infuses a gentle touch into the bedroom, effortlessly blending modern allure with timeless charm.
Located discreetly behind the elegant sliding Venetian door lies the thoughtfully designed and impeccably crafted master bathroom.
The symphonic symmetry reflects one's inner peace.
The wall is laid with a nature-inspired mosaic tile designed by Tokujin Yoshioka (for Mutina Ceramics). Adorning the mirrors are the Origo Wall sconces by David Pompa that highlight the verticality in space.
Lighting is integrated with the marble vanities to cast a soft and soothing light.
The compact guest bath is also set in a calming neutrality of beige tones. At the center of the vanity nook is a floating mirror cabinet casting a subtle glow to the space.
