PlayLab is an immersive learning center designed to captivate young minds. The brief was to create a versatile interior that seamlessly transitions from a dynamic office space during the week to vibrant classrooms for STEM learning and educational talks on weekends.
As the name suggests, PlayLab was envisioned as a realm of wonder for young and mature minds. Stepping into the space, your gaze is met by a burnt orange sofa alongside with a plum purple pantry creating a visually stimulating introduction to the space. These bold colour choices are harmonized by a soothing palette of beige and stainless steel accents, evoking a laboratory-inspired ambiance that nurtures curiosity and innovation.
Our thoughtfully curated furniture, characterized in organic fluid forms, serves as a tribute to each child’s unique identity. The lounge serves a dual function for hosting talks and events, we meticulously designed tiered seatings resembling auditorium seatings. The design transcends aesthetics to foster exploration, igniting the imagination of both young and mature minds alike.
Sabine Marcelis’ doughnut wall lamp brings a warm and uplifting ambiance to the space, perfectly aligning with PlayLab’s mission to spark curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Strategically positioned at the back of the lounge, the informal high table seating area not only fosters creativity and collaboration, it provides optimal viewing for attendees to watch presentations, where the projection screen drops down at the front.
Adjacent to the lounge area, the classroom space comes alive with hands-on experiments and educational workshops. Sliding partitions effortlessly reconfigure the room, allowing a seamless shift between a focused learning environment and an open showcase, where students’ projects are proudly displayed on open shelves.
Each classroom is equipped with a stainless steel handwashing station reminiscent of a laboratory setting, cultivating a spirit of curiosity and innovation.
Our thoughtfully curated furniture, characterized in organic fluid forms, celebrates the personality and individuality of each child.
